It's not higher math: $170B minus $165M equals... a royal screwing of the taxpayers. That's us, my friends.
I'm all for fixing the economy, but throwing more money at the rats down the rat-hole would not seem to be the way to do it.
But I'm a simple country girl, what do I know.
Well Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, that gave them the bailout knew about the bonus contracts a year ago and could of had them re-negotiate these contracts before given any bailout money. As it is I don't want anyone in the government able to void a contract I have with someone just because they don't like it. That is what a contract is about - an binding obligation - period
